The 209th July 4th Celebration in
Lititz Springs Park will take place on Saturday, July 4th 2026.
Home to the second oldest consecutive celebration
of America’s Independence in the United States!
Due to severe storms that hit our area on both Saturday, July 4th and Sunday, July 5th, we made the extremely difficult decision to cancel our beloved fireworks spectacular for this year. During the planning process, we are given an event date and a rain date. Beyond that, an entirely new event must be organized with new permits in place, new contracts with companies that provide fireworks, drones, lasers, sound equipment, cranes, generators, fencing barricades, security services, and much more. Not to mention rescheduling hundreds of volunteers and the labor involved in resetting gates with fencing, signage, cash boxes, credit card machines and ticket scanners. All with the coordination of 2 separate fully staffed police forces, 9 fire companies, and EMS personnel. Taking into consideration that our grounds just took a big hit with those 2 storms, that the park is the flood plain for the town, and that there is no guarantee that Mother Nature will cooperate for a future date, a decision to cancel was made with the best interest and for the immediate safety of the thousands of people inside the park at that time on Saturday. We are extremely grateful for the coordination and collaboration of our local police, fire and EMS services as well as our internal Security staff. The fact that no injuries occurred inside the park during the storm was partly lucky, but also partly due to excellent planning and protocols that were already in place.
As most people are aware, Lititz Springs Park is a private park and does not receive public funds for its upkeep. The grounds are maintained by one big fundraiser each year, which is our 4th of July celebration. If you attended the event and can consider your wristband purchase as a donation to the park to go towards the fundraising goal, we are extremely appreciative. Every dollar that remains with the park directly benefits this community, and we are truly grateful for your generosity.
Our ticket policy clearly states that there are no refunds once purchased, however, given the unique circumstances of an unavailable date to reschedule to in the near future, we are accepting partial refund requests for the next 7 days only. If you feel that you must request a refund, please email the July 4th committee at lititzjuly4th@gmail.com before July 12, 2026 to request a partial refund.
We are deeply saddened by the many losses of hard work and careful planning that went into bringing a spectacular 250th celebration to Lititz Springs Park this year. We look forward to beginning plans for our 2027 event and we hope to see everyone back in the park next summer. Thank you for your continued support of our beloved park and community.
Sincerely,
The 2026 Fourth of July Planning Committee
In the earliest days of the United States, John Adams wrote to his wife Abigail about the celebration of independence, “It ought to be solemnized with Pomp and Parade, with Shows, Games, Sports, Guns, Bells, Bonfires and Illuminations from one End of this Continent to the other from this Time forward forever more.”
(“Bonfires and illuminations” refer directly to what we know as pyrotechnics and firework displays.)
In Lititz Springs Park, where time’s gentle stream,
Flows through over two centuries, a patriot’s dream,
Two hundred and nine years have passed with grace,
Yet here we gather in this sacred place.
Beneath the boughs where freedom sings,
Where echoes of liberty take to wings,
We celebrate traditions old yet new,
In Lititz’s embrace, red, white, and blue.
From humble beginnings, a nation’s birth,
To the present day, cherished on Earth,
In every heart, a fire burns bright,
For the ideals that guide us through the night.
On this continuous journey, year by year,
In Lititz Springs Park, our spirits cheer,
For unity, courage, and dreams that soar,
In this land of freedom forevermore.
With laughter and joy, under skies so wide,
We honor the values for which we abide,
In Lititz’s embrace, through time’s gentle arc,
We cherish this 209th Fourth of July in the park.
